Humor, honesty, and the parts most people leave out.
I'm Antonio Neves. Everybody calls me Tony.
I spent more than a decade as a TV journalist at NBC, PBS and BET in New York City, which mostly meant asking people questions and then waiting long enough for them to tell me something true. I never really stopped doing it. These days it's 400+ keynotes for companies including Google, Amazon, Visa and McDonald's, five books including Stop Living on Autopilot and The 1-Day Method™, and a novel coming from Wiley in April 2027. My work has been featured on the NBC Today Show, Fox, and Forbes.
That's the part that goes in the program.
I've got boy/girl twins. In January 2025 my family lost our house in the Los Angeles wildfires, and when I say lost, the only things left standing were the chimney and the mailbox. Somebody opened that mailbox a few days later and the Christmas thank-you letters we never got around to sending were still sitting in there. Perfectly fine. Not a mark on them.
I’ve been rebuilding ever since, and I'm doing most of it out loud now. I figure this is either brave or a really bad idea. I'll let you know.
For four years I wrote this thing under a different name with the guardrails up. I'd share, but only the parts I'd already made peace with. I'm done doing that.
So now it's one essay a week. Sometimes it's about work. Sometimes it's about what happens when you finally hit the number you were chasing and feel absolutely nothing. Sometimes my kids tell me the truth about myself and I go write it down.
If you came here for answers, there's a whole internet and AI for that and it's free at three in the morning.
Better questions are harder to come by. That's the part I'm actually good at.
